Definitely need the option for more weapons slots than 2.
While I am not interested much in making superduper fighters, I think having more slots can make interesting "Boss"/Capital ships (Battleships, Dreadnaughts, Heavy Cruisers, etc.)
Would love the option to be able to give ships with 2 strong forward firing weapons at least a small turret to ward off the vultures picking away at them from behind!
Think of the cool combos you could come up with! |

Mabie the mass of the ship could decide how maney weapons it could hold. Then the bigger the ship the more weapons. _________________

| Why don't we do this. There are "primary", "secondary" and "automatic" weapons. Automatic are AI controlled regardless of whether the ship is an AI or a human, like a turret on a big ship. All primary weapons fire at once, all secondary weapons fire at once. As a designer, you can set however many you want in each of the three slots. |

That's right! The AI controlled weapons... they should only be on ships big enough to have multiple crew members (because somebody had to have fired the weapons). _________________

| Not necessarily. Depending on how good the onboard targeting systems are on these ships, you could have AI-assisted targeting even on small ships. There are lots of games that have AI-controlled rear guns on fighters for example, the idea being that a single pilot can't concentrate on flying, shooting at what's in front of him, and shooting at what's behind him. Larger fighters accomplish this by having a pilot and a gunner, but smaller fighters could have an AI do it for them. |
